So OMM gas released an album with Philip Glass playing his own works on solo piano.
I have only listened to a few pieces yet.
First, Glass is a terrible piano player.
Second, those versions are significantly different from other recordings and official scores. Truman Sleeps, for example, have changes in harmony and structure and a new ending, making it a much more interesting piece, albeit terribly recorded.

Next #Reaper on #Linux project: a soft synth drum kit. I suppose I need some kind of #VST instrument?

I've got significant lag when I route #MIDI through #Reaper to the MIDI instrument and it's completely unplayable. Any idea how to fix this lag?

I've got latency on audio as well.

Argh. Slight #latency when using #MIDI with #Reaper on #Linux. How do I deal with latency?

I have realised I have to use ALSA, not JACK, because the Scarlett 4i4 doesn't show up in ALSA. Because you need kernel modules and that's just too much for now.
And now I want to record MIDI but Reaper records sound despite the fact that I tell it to only record MIDI. At least I think I do. Maybe I don't. I don't know.

I'm a bit overwhelmed. So far, I have managed to reroute the sound from my Nord Piano to output so I can monitor what I play directly from the sound card. I have also realised I need new cables; the line-in connectors on the back have fixed gain levels.

Is there someone out there who knows how to set up #Focusrite #Scarlett sound cards with #Linux and #Reaper? Or at least can point me in the right direction?

Now I just have to practice, practice, practice. Realised I made the piano part a bit tricky at some points.

I created some music. This work is for violin, cello and piano and was actually commissioned by the Italian violin player Marco Modigo who asked me for something he could play with his students. It's for violin, cello and piano. I have kept the violin part simple as it is for a beginner. The piano part is a bit more demanding, as is the cello part.
Thanks also to @EDVARDS whose generosity made this possible.

I and my partner booked a cottage for two days to get some time for creative work. She's working on her novel and I'm trying to compose music.

Why has #Musescore transformed into a horrible money-sucking web site? It used to be good. Considering removing my scores from there.

Many people recommend Behringer UMC204HD. They're not special in any way, but they work out of the box with #Linux. Maybe that's what I should aim for?

Oh no. Just realised I don't have a simple line in port on my laptop. I need a sound card.
Any recommendation on a simple USB sound card that might have MIDI in/out as well? I'm running #Linux so compatibility might be an issue.

Stand and stool. The musician part of me is coming alive again.
But now my back hurts. I've played for too long. ๐๐คท

And now I'm on my way back with a stand and a piano stool.

On my way into downtown Stockholm to buy a stand for my new Nord Piano.
I don't want to work, I want to play the piano.

I've just tried Kawai ES-920, Roland FP-90X and Yamaha P-525.
All of them are great digital pianos. In the end, I liked the Yamaha and the GrandTouch-S keyboard best. But that wasn't obvious. The Yamaha could handle a very light tough, whereas the Kawai and the Roland felt a bit rubbery or spongy.
Any other digital pianos in the same price range I should try?
