Is there someone out there who knows how to set up #Focusrite #Scarlett sound cards with #Linux and #Reaper? Or at least can point me in the right direction?

I'm a bit overwhelmed. So far, I have managed to reroute the sound from my Nord Piano to output so I can monitor what I play directly from the sound card. I have also realised I need new cables; the line-in connectors on the back have fixed gain levels.

I have realised I have to use ALSA, not JACK, because the Scarlett 4i4 doesn't show up in ALSA. Because you need kernel modules and that's just too much for now.
And now I want to record MIDI but Reaper records sound despite the fact that I tell it to only record MIDI. At least I think I do. Maybe I don't. I don't know.

@bluebirch Sorry, no. When I changed to Linux I replaced my Axe I/O with a Behringer UMC 1820 because a) inputs and b) Class Compliant (i. e. I need no drivers).
I struggled to get it to output sound, but that wasn't the fault of the interface.
