@sigmund I have a question for you, Sigmund. How does Silo look on your movie room projector? Mine really struggles with it. Quite dark. Quite a green tint. I've tried all the display modes. I've tried messing with brightness and contrast settings. Still not great. It's most visible in Silo. Do you notice anything off about it? I'm trying to decide if my bulb is on the way out, but other shows typically look great, and the bulb isn't actually that old, either. Thanks!!

Now this is neat! Cmd-Tab to bring up the #macOS App Switcher. Left/Right arrow through them (Or Cmd-Tab or Shift-Cmd-Tab). Once the app you're looking for is highlighted (while still holding down Cmd), hit the Up arrow. This brings up the expose-view of all that app's open windows, and you can use the arrow keys to choose the one you want and Enter/Return to go to it.

Is Tim Cook just another Trump-supporting rich guy?

I can't know, obviously. And neither can most others opining about his personal $1m donation to Trump's inauguration fund.

Mark Cuban isn’t a Trump supporter. JB Pritzker neither. Melinda Gates. Soros. Reed Hastings. They do exist, but yes, they are in the minority (amongst billionaires).

I think a viable explanation is that it's a shit sandwich, that Cook is begrudgingly choosing to eat. Apple is a very (!!) import-heavy org, and tariffs can hurt them particularly harshly. Cook could be putting his own ego aside to stroke the ego of the man who will grant those much needed tariff exemptions.

Or he could simply be a Trump supporter. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m very happy to finally have more than 500 characters for posts/replies here on my(this) Mastodon instance. No, I'm not a regular writer of opuses, but often found myself just outside the previous 500 character limit, which then led to time consuming word-tetris exercises. A lovely parting gift from 2024 to me earlier today: whilst wiring a new outlet, I was tightening a terminal screw (pushing really hard to get it nice & tight) when the screwdriver slipped. Straight into the thick part of my palm. Yes, into. A nice, deep, ➕shaped hole. OUCHIE! (thankfully my non-dominant hand) 😵‍💫

@caseyliss Trying out Callsheet atm. With a view to possibly moving over from TVForecast. Have you considered adding TV show progress tracking into Callsheet? Marking episodes as watched, seeing a one-view list of my pinned shows' next air date (date and/or days-to). With your imminent release of pinned lists, which would (presumably?) be great to sort TV into “watching”, “to-watch”, “maybe”, it'll be awesome to be able to track as-you-watch, like in TVForecast, and see when it's next on.

Oh yay, sales tactics are escalating!

First I got emails (at work) from random software vendors saying “blah-blah-blah. Let me know if we can have a call to discuss.”

Then over time this moved to “blah-blah-blah. Does 1pm on Wed work for you to discuss?”

And more recently, it’s moved to actually sending me unsolicited meeting requests.

(not the same vendor, different random ones, but still)

What next, waiting for me at my car in my office parking lot?!

I'll be interested in others' thoughts, but I think the design trend of oversized center screens in new cars is getting into silly territory. I'm hoping we return to more sensibly sized screens. No one needs that much screen space — in fact, it becomes a visual safety issue (distraction). #ev #cars

(Very late to the party — catching up on my @atpfm member specials — but...) @siracusa Have you considered a simple shortcut to get all the filenames of the selected photos in Photos.app (instead of your fun OCR solution 😂)?

E.g. quick & dirty attached example lists the filenames from selected photos sent to the share sheet.

@caseyliss ATP614. What OTA antenna did you send your friend? And where did he (he, iirc) have it? From my testing, different OTA antennas perform wildly different in different areas. And asking where he put it, because again, some OTA antennas need much more “line of sight” than others to operate adequately. (Of course, him being in an OTA bad zone is the most likely issue, like you’ve both alluded to.)
