Quick point of clarification:
For those unaware, Juxtaposition (or Juxt, for short) is Pretendo's reimagining/reimplementation of Miiverse. This is a social media platform tightly integrated with Wii U and 3DS systems & games. These past few days, we've been adding new communities to this service; these are not game servers. Game servers (e.g. online multiplayer) are developed separately, and will have their own set of announcements as needed.

In case you've missed it, starting December 21st we began "5 Days of Juxtmas", where each day we've been adding new communities to Juxtaposition.
On Day 1, we added Tomodachi Life and Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure.
On Day 2, we added Pokémon Rumble World and Pokémon Rumble Blast.
On Day 3, we added Pokémon Sun/Moon and Pokkén Tournament.
Today, we added Pokémon X/Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, and Team Kirby Clash Deluxe.
Tune in tomorrow for the final day! Merry Juxtmas and Happy Holidays!

A new blog post for the month of October has been released. This is our first blog post where we focus specifically on the more technical/behind the scenes side of things, rather than actual feature updates. Let us know if these are the sorts of updates you'd like to see in future blog posts!
This months blog post goes over a number of internal affairs and in-development experiments we've been running, including a new relationship with the Archiverse team, some experimental new server software, and new internal tooling to hopefully streamline the creation of new servers for simple games!
For all the details, see https://pretendo.network/blog/11-1-24 (as there are far too many to go over here!)

A few days late, but with July now over we've got another round of updates for you all! This includes an overview of all the new changes to existing games, some future goals, and new information regarding Animal Crossing: New Leaf :D
https://pretendo.network/blog/8-2-24
Note: We know that we have released monthly progress update posts twice in a row now, but to be clear this may not consistently happen. Much of our work is research related, deals with internal tooling, making updates/improvements to our helper libraries, etc. These updates are not always necessarily interesting enough to make it into blog posts, so there may be periods where we do not publish any. However if you'd like to see these smaller things featured in blog posts, we may begin to include them

With June coming to a close, we'd like to take this time to talk about some recent updates, and future plans, for Pretendo. The full announcement is too long with a single post here, so see our full blog post for all the information: https://pretendo.network/blog/6-29-24
In this blog post we go over some unreleased new updates to our server libraries which should help with overall stability, the details of ten games receiving either new updates or beta testing (including Smash, Pokemon, and Puyo Puyo), and more!
Thank you everyone for your constant support and patience! 💜

Today we say goodbye to Nintendo Network. As of writing this message, Nintendo has shut down their online infrastructure for the Wii U and 3DS after 12 strong years. We know many of you here have fond memories from this generation, playing iconic titles such as Mario Kart 7, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, and more. Today marks an end of a chapter in gamings history, and I'm sure many of you wondered why we have stayed so silent for most of the day.
Despite this chapter ending for Nintendo, it's just getting started for Pretendo! We won't be going anywhere, and we have many more plans for the future (such as expanding our infrastructure to allow for 3rd party servers, to allow games not under our scope of support to be brought back seamlessly through other teams). We will remain hard at work improving our servers, both in terms of over compatibility with more games and improving the performance of said games as well.
Before we get into the main part of the announcement, I would just like to extend one last, giant, thank you to everyone who helped support us recently! The amount of network dumps we obtained is outstanding, getting data for nearly all games! This will be such a valuable resource for us moving forward, as we no longer have a way to see these servers in action. These network dumps are invaluable to life of Pretendo, and we couldn't have done it without you all :purple_heart:.
With that, we have 2 big things to announce:
Patch updates
A new release of both Nimbus and Inkay has been released! You MUST install these new releases moving forward, as they contain critical updates required to keep multiplayer match making working! Download the latest versions here:
Today we are finally announcing our private hackless Wii U connection method; SSSL! This new connection method exploits a bug in the Wii U SSL module introduced in firmware version 5.5.5 which allows us to support Wii U users WITHOUT HOMEBREW, using only a DNS change! For information on the setup and limitations of SSSL (as well as other updates regarding Pretendo moving forward), see our full blog post and updated Wii U guide:

Nintendo Network Shutdown Reminder: 7 days!
It is officially April 1st for most of the world, which means there's only around 7 days left until the Nintendo Network shutdown. Just like last week we wanted to take this time to remind everyone of our crowd sourcing effort for game dumps!
You all have been amazing since the last update, not a day has gone by where we didn't have submissions! Thank you to everyone who has contributed, we've been able to collect a great amount of data we otherwise would not have. We hope this final week goes just as well, and we look forward to seeing you all on the other side!
Spreadsheet Update
Reminder that we have a spreadsheet of games which we are looking for dumps for. That spreadsheet can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ijZ3sL3IbZBgEBWF3KK0gyoQzYHp3BAu6ZoXOyXs1qo/htmlview
Many users have asked about which games do and do not have dumps, and what things still need to be dumped in said games:
I would like to reiterate: Even if a game already has dumps, having more dumps is always a good thing! As for what things in-game still need to be done, it is impossible to make such a comprehensive list.
If you have a game on the list, and are able to make dumps, we ask that you do! It does not matter if the game already has dumps or not!
That being said, I have done a quick scan on the already uploaded dumps and added a column to the spreadsheet marking each game as either "missing dumps" or not. If a game is "missing dumps", it means the scan found NO data whatsoever for it!
(This scan was done automatically and may have made mistakes. If you submitted dumps for a game listed as "missing", please let someone know)
And as always, here's a breakdown of the network dump counts are now at:

A lot of people have asked about a list of games which need dumps, if a game has dumps, etc. So I'd like to clear some things up:
1. What games need dumps?
Any game you have which can go online. If you have a game, and it uses Nintendo Network, it counts. For an actual list, we have compiled a semi-accurate spreadsheet of Wii U and 3DS games which are technically under our scope of support.
That spreadsheet can be found here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ijZ3sL3IbZBgEBWF3KK0gyoQzYHp3BAu6ZoXOyXs1qo/htmlview!
Games listed on this spreadsheet as having patches are a high priority, as they likely do game-specific things we need data for.
2. Does X game have dumps?
That does not matter all that much :ThumbsUpL: the more data we have, the better! IT's always useful to be able to compare data from the same game, from different people, to look for things like differences in behaviors, or to narrow down what certain data may be! Don't worry about whether or not a game already has dumps, if you can provide network dumps for a game, then we'll take them :purple_heart: Especially smaller/less popular games, as a lot of people focus of the bigger ones resulting in smaller titles having next to no network dumps!
3. How many dumps does X game have?
We have had thousands of total submissions, and hundreds of network dumps posted. It's not feasible at this time to get a live count for every game without manually reading thousands upon thousands of submissions.
4. What tasks are left to be dumped in X game?
Similar to the previous point, there are hundreds of games to support, making it infeasible to provide a comprehensive list of all tasks, in all games. Additionally, even if such a list existed it would also be infeasible to track which specific tasks have been dumped for, as the only way to know that is to:
And just as an update from last night, our network dump counts are now at:

Shutdown reminder!
With just 2 weeks left until the Nintendo Network shutdown, we'd like to take this time to remind everyone that we are accepting network packet dumps for all games, for both the Wii U and 3DS! These packet dumps give us a glimpse into how the games operated when the official servers were still online. While technically possible to do without these dumps, having reference material like this will make the job of making replacement servers FAR easier once these servers go offline!
This is ESPECIALLY true for more obscure/less popular games, and games which have custom additions to them. Having network dumps for smaller games is just as, if not more, important than the bigger ones as we'd likely have much less reference material for them! We know everyone is excited to help get the big names going, but we can't forget the little guys either!
That being said, we appreciate ALL users who help us with this crowd sourcing! We have gotten a LOT of amazing data from everyone so far, all of which will definitely help us moving forward.
For those interested in contributing network packet dumps, see our guide on our website here https://pretendo.network/docs/network-dumps. This page also includes a section listing some games we consider "high priority", though these are NOT the only games we still need data for.
For those curious about our current network dump stats, so far we have:

We have just launched some new ways for the community to help aid development; Submitting network dumps!
Network dumps are one of, if not the, best way to help development of projects like this. They allow developers to see how the servers/clients "talk" during normal operation, which can greatly speed up development on our end. It is not impossible to support games without network dumps, but it makes our jobs orders of magnitude easier when we have reference material.
Starting today we have deployed a way for the community to help us by crowd sourcing network dumps for games before Nintendo Network shuts down in a few months!
For a detailed guide on how to setup your computer and console to capture network traffic, the steps on how to submit them, etc, please see our brand new guide on our website! This page also has a list of high priority games we are looking to get dumps for, for anyone who owns them and is interested in helping the cause! https://pretendo.network/docs/network-dumps
To submit network dumps to us, simply post them to any channel in our Discord server. Our Discord bot, Bandwidth, has been updated to detect these dumps, and will download them from your message, and reupload them privately for a subset of developers to access. Due to security concerns, your original message is then deleted. Additionally, less than 10 people have access to where the dumps are uploaded. Alternatively, if you have concerns regarding uploading dumps to the server you may contact a relevant developer privately. Anyone with the "Shares Dumps" role can be contacted, though Billy (💜) is likely the best as he mostly heads our packet capturing operations.
Thank you to anyone who helps the cause! If you have any issues with the guide, feel free to open an issue on GitHub https://github.com/PretendoNetwork/website/issues

Just a transparency announcement about last night. Last night someone claimed to have done a hack. Due to it happening late at night and us not having round the clock staff, we opted to just shut some services off until morning while we looked into things. This is why Juxt was offline until now. I've seen some people think this person did it, no it was me.
To be crystal clear: This was not a real "hack". No databases were breached, no user data was taken or even seen, nothing like that. The only thing the person was able to do is very basic operations, such as changing a users access level between standard, banned, tester, etc, and making Juxt communities and such. Just someone mucking about. All relevant changes the user made have already been reverted (with one exception I will touch on). The panel the user had access to did not expose user data (it's a very basic, crappy, panel), and was only able to access it due to a single line incorrect permissions check. The databases where user data is stored was not accessed at all, and cannot be unless the connection is coming from an authorized user on a whitelisted IP (of which there are only 2).
What we believe to have been the root cause was found later last night, and deployed this afternoon after some testing. All services are back online as of the writing of this message. To be clear, if the issue is not what we believe it was then we will again shut off relevant services and go back into a maintenance mode.
As mentioned all relevant changes this person made (of which there were few, could count them on your hands) have been reverted besides one. Some users may have been given tester access, but the number of people affected is incredibly small and we have decided ¯(ツ)/¯ about it. Those who got it can keep it for now. We have plans to sunset the Patreon soon, in favor of our own payment system which we have been using for quite some time now, and once that happens users with tester access without using the new system will have the status removed at the end of the month of the sunset (with the exception of a few testers). So those who may have gotten tester last night, will lose it when that happens anyway.
Additionally since this seemed to have spooked quite a few of you, we have decided to keep the beta going until at least the end of February. Just as a way to apologize for the scare. I'm also currently in the middle of moving, so I wasn't going to close the beta right away anyway, waiting until I was done moving in a few days/a week. I planned to announce the continuation of the beta regardless, so this worked out. We typically hold a beta in February as well to celebrate our anniversary, so it will just stay open until then
And finally, we overall see this as a net positive. Nothing REALLY happened, it was overall very inconsequential. So there was no real loss here, for anyone. But it did spur us internally to discuss some better security standards moving forward, which has led to several new ideas and projects on the drawing board. So overall, we lost nothing and gained some new ideas. We see this as a net positive.
