I know I am acclimating to the cold when I look at the temperature and think 45°F is warm outside.

Or if it is above freezing, that I won't need my coat (3rd layer) if there isn't much wind.

I accidentally wrecked my passenger vehicle on Wednesday and now I need to clean it out in preparation for the inspection on Monday morning. Not sure if it is damaged more than it is worth, so I get to find out.

🧵 5/n

It was in Episode 1 at 14:27

Unit price is ~¥17.

15:09 1 CP / 5 pins.

So a mark up of %1100

So if is 20 CP for 100 clips, the 4 sP makes sense.

n = 5, for now, muahahahahha.....Maths

🧵 4/n I am going to try the licensed translation to see if the monetary system is different.

{ Searching for "The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World" && Monetary || System didn't yield many relevant results}

1 SP = ¥50,000 { he says 五まん (Go Man) which is 50,000 [12:02_Ep1]

Bag of pepper = 2 SP, 1sP. 3CP = 108 CP = ¥108,000 = $695.52 USD.

The bag of peppercorns is roughly fist sized.

[08:36-Ep1]

It is finally here! The monetary system that I have longed for!

1 CP = ¥1025

1sP = ¥5008 = 4.89 CP

1 SP = ¥50114 = 48.89 CP

So taking the clothespin price of 2 CP for 5 clips. It is simple to work out the math.

The unit price is then $2.58 USD, or roughly a 4200% mark up.

100 Clothespins is marked up in this world to 40 CP.

🧵 2/n

Okay, so, the exchange rate is as such:

1 Copper Piece [CP] = ¥1000 = $6.44 USD

{ I don't know how the MC orders, is it a minimum order for clothespins?

So a pack of 500 has a unit price of $0.05998, or ~6¢. }

The monetary system is then:

1 Small Square Silver Piece [sP] = 5 CP

1 Silver Piece [SP] = 10 sP = 50 CP

1 Gold Piece [GP] = 4 SP = 40sP = 200 CP

Watching "The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World" or アラフォー男の異世界通販生活

(Arafō Otoko no Isekai Tsūhan Seikatsu)

And it occurs to me, around the 10 minute mark in episode 3, that getting clothespin springs and having local carpenters form the wood parts would be an interesting comparison with how the MC is getting them now.

Just saw the Sherrif department trying to enforce the Rent-a -center seizure next door. The neighbors weren't home/didn't answer, and I jumped in the house right quick to get my cell phone. They cleared off shortly after I popped back outside.

Went through 4.5 hours of Deposition for a rear end collision where I now have two herniated diks as a result of the other driver hitting me while I was stopped at a stop light. Mercury Insurance's council reserved their right to additional deposition time. The accident was almost 4 years ago.

Currently in the Delay/Depose portion of Deny Delay Depose Defend cycle.

We had Snow! (According to my Nest Mate) Didn't last, just flurries, but Winter is officially here in Central Virginia.

I hope we have lasting snow, as we are due, and I haven't seen snow since we moved here.

@InstituteforJustice

"in Kelo, the 5-4 majority held that creating jobs and increasing tax revenue was a “public use.”

However, I fail to see how a parking lot would "create jobs" or "increase tax revenue" especially when there is already abundant parking in the area.

@InstituteforJustice I feel like the Kelo defendants need to sue the state again as their property was taken for a non-public use, and is an empty lot. Like it is one thing to say that the seizure will increase tax revenue, it is quite another for the development to fall through and not generate any jobs/taxes for the state.

"He says that, if he had let her go without citing her, it would “set the precedent” that people could claim a medical emergency to get out of a ticket"

Actually, there is already precedent for getting out of a ticket for a medical emergency. You can totally speed to the hospital if you are transporting your loved one in a medical emergency.

Specifically, many states have Good Samaritan laws which provide both civil and criminal immunity for rendering emergency assistance.

Alternatively, there is the Affirmative defense of Medical Necessity.

"Its eventual withdrawal, on the grounds of concerns over ethical approval and doubts about the conduct of the research, marks the 28th retraction for co-author Didier Raoult, a French microbiologist, formerly at Marseille’s Hospital-University Institute Mediterranean Infection (IHU), who shot to global prominence in the pandemic. French investigations found that he and the IHU had violated ethics-approval protocols in numerous studies, and Raoult has now retired."

Wait, the journal didn't think to do a more extensive review of the article when one of the authors had 27 previous retractions?! What were they thinking?

"A cis man being lonely is seen as a social problem, a woman or queer person being lonely is seen as shameful personal failure. "

Cis men express their loneliness by acting out. For example, by going on a murder spree like Elliot Roger.

"Cis men are not only allowed but encouraged to express any and all emotions under patriarchy. What they are actually discouraged from doing is expressing emotions in ways that do not serve to differentiate them from women and other marginalized genders. Cis men can be angry, just not in the way women are angry. They can be sad and even cry, but just not in the way queers do. They are encouraged to have and express emotions by patriarchy, but only in ways that refer to that system of power."

Really Great commentary on Emotional Health and the #CisHeteroPatriarchy
