My days consist of cooking, baking and the dreaded cleaning from said cooking/baking. Just finished baking 2 batches of banana nut with chocolate chip muffins and one loaf of the same bread. Kitchen is a disaster, but it was fun having the kiddo help with the baking!

Over the holiday break I decided to experiment with homegrown sprouts.

Pics are progressing from day zero (freshly soaked and put in tray) to day three.

So far so good. A few more days till harvest.

My cutie pies are watching their favorite cartoon (Dino trux) with me. These are the moments that get me through everything else.

Oof. I know how you feel validator…I know how you feel. I give up sometimes too.

Apparently 940 is the limit for the w3c html validator. New record. In a bad way.

Oof. Looks like a bunch a major retailers are ignoring basic reflow (wcag 1.4.10 AA) requirements. Amazon doesn’t bother, Walmart looks like a mess…so much for finding irl examples to point to for good responsive cart patterns here.

I can’t believe it’s so user hostile that it’s either, use our app or suffer the consequences of a horrible experience. 🫠

What ever happened to mobile-first…?!

Random thoughts while cleaning the litter box:

I wanna rewrite the lyrics to Dennis Leary's asshole song but for my cats ... like when they have to come in the litter box that I'm cleaning while I’m cleaning it to drop another poo/pee. All together now, a-s-s-h-o-l-e.

My son’s version of a cracker sandwich: it’s cracker on the top, bottom and middle. Then he licks the crumbs from the bowl. Then he eats the cheese. Reasons I can never take him to eat in public.

Bah humbug. Grinch here. Why don’t any of the streaming services have a way to block specific genres, holidays, etc?! The amount of holiday content being featured is ridiculous and I just want it to stop. 🤦‍♀️

Seconding this! I hate that every product now has a stupid “AI” feature and it’s automatically running. Honestly, if I can’t turn it off, I’m not going to use the site/tool/software except when I’m forced to by my employer.

I just realized this weird noice I’m hearing while waiting for my kiddo to fall asleep is the cat’s ridiculously loud purring. I legit thought the humidifier was broken.

My cat is trying to feed his “stuffie” (aka a stuffed sock with catnip in it).

He’s starting to give off “Lars and the real girl” vibes with it.

Really ready for that second kitten… 😆

I survived day 3 of window/door installation. Today was much better. I spoke with the lead and they made less mess (and covered stuff in plastic) and they cleaned up better. I still had clean up to do, but I expected some.

8 more windows and 1 door left. 🤞🤞 this’ll be completed tomorrow.

Oh, and there is a yellow jacket infestation in the attic (practically breaking through the ceiling of a bedroom) that needs to be addressed asap in morning by an exterminator. Never a dull moment.

I’m exhausted and this coming week will be more of the same.

I hired a contractor to install windows and doors they left my house a disaster. Drywall, dust fiberglass shavings from the window jamb being trimmed, fiberglass from insulation…all over every area where they worked.

I had to clean every nook and cranny and toy in my son’s playroom, the kitchen, the living room…And I still have the dining room left to clean.

Literally 😭 because the bedrooms still need the new windows installed.

Apparently, cats enjoy popping the bubbles just as much as we do. At least this one does anyways…and yes I took the bubble wrap away so he can’t eat it.

Can’t believe he’s 5 months old already. 🥲

Spotted: Rosey the Robot from the first episode of the Jetsons (1962) stating' "The opinions expressed are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of my employers."

Now I'm wondering how long this disclaimer has been used...
