I just realized this weird noice I’m hearing while waiting for my kiddo to fall asleep is the cat’s ridiculously loud purring. I legit thought the humidifier was broken.

@hmig My humidifier fan is dying, causing the motor speed (& sound volume) to rise & fall somewhat erratically, and yes, I could see how that might be similar to the sound of a very loudly purring cat.

Anyway, better than the sounds of angry, fighting cats.

Or maybe this is a new passive agressive approach. Purring so loudly to remind you he's there and you don't need no annoying little kitten. 😾

@AmeliasBrain - lol, I’m glad that my inclination wasn’t far off about the sound.

Thankfully, the kitties are getting along better-ish. At least the older one isn’t afraid of the lil one anymore, but now he is turning into a bully regarding the food (he wants to eat it all). They have completely separate eating zones, but that doesn’t stop him from “sharing.”

@hmig D'awww. Well, I'm glad they're not fighting anymore. Even sharing the cat tree. And, the little one's food dish. Uh, sharing is caring?

Food competition might be a long-term issue. If it gets to the point where you're worried little one isn't eating enough, you could maybe create some sort of box with an opening only he can fit through? Although that probably wouldn't be a solution for long…

I guess going back to putting big brother in a carrier when he's being a pain might work.

@AmeliasBrain - we separate them when the food “sharing” happens (trying to teach the big kitty that he should stick to his own dish) and have another feeding station in my bedroom where the white kitten sleeps at night. We make sure they always have food though.
