Science fiction story idea: the plebs use the masters' tools against them.

For instance, using generative ai to produce tons of text documents or audio files to jam up email inboxes, web forms, and phone lines intended for snitching on fellow citizens.

Wonder what other hypothetical ideas we could all produce in a collaborative sci-fi thought experiment. 🤔

[#]LadyDuchess having a great time running and pulling me along.

Look what a good girl she is! She gets a bit distracted at 0:14, but snaps back instantly when I tell her "go-go" 😍

We stopped for plenty of sniffing and play on the way back.

[#]LadyDuchess and I stumbled upon an unmarked, well-maintained ~1 mile nature trail through the woods around the artificial lake adjacent to our neighborhood.

Really lovely. There's a berm, so you can't even tell you're 200ft from a busy road.

Lots of birds. Just really nice.

Kind of frustrated we didn't know about it before now! Always good to have something like that in the back pocket for when I don't have the energy/time to drive us to distant adventure locations.

Pictures next time.

Caught one of Google AI's flukes in the wild!

This Quiche Lorraine I'm baking is going to be way off 😆

The example project for django-pint-field was fun to build, but maybe the best thing I did for the package (and me) was building cheatsheets.

In the docs, you can see the full cheatsheet at https://django-pint-field.readthedocs.io/en/latest/cheatsheet.html

That documentation page combines the outputs of the cheatsheet django management command and the /cheatsheet/ endpoint of the example project, showing the many ways to use and manipulate Pint quantities in your #Django project.

Attached is the cheatsheet for using with templates.

"So, what did you achieve in 2025?"

Well, I spent over 100 hours building something nobody asked for and that wasn't particularly needed, because I couldn't get a silly idea out of my head. yeah... 😅

(My hyperfocus is incredibly strong when there are other things in life that I am avoiding)

And, scene!

I think the example project for my #Django package, django-pint-field, may have achieved a record for most overproduced demo for what is really a very utilitarian package - it allows you to use Pint to convert & store quantities in your django projects.

This was super fun, but took way more time than I intended to spend 😆

Please try it out and let me know what you think! Here are the directions to get started:
