I've got a couple projects I'd like to set up Masto accounts for. A non-free open-source game and a closed-source hardware project. I could throw them on mastodon.org, but I feel that's against the spirit of federation. 🤔 Anyone got any ideas?

Has anyone tried writing a multi-threaded simulation game update loop? I've looked at a few approaches, but I have had a hard time coming up with something that is sane to write and performant across, like, 60 cores.

Most games I've seen have been single-threaded simulation, with a few rendering threads.

@Alice I think I had a crucial ~3 years or so on you, but I completely disassembled my father's laptop at one point with my younger sister. Each part I took off got laid on the floor to the right of the other parts, so when it came time to reassemble it I always had the next part at hand. It worked, which was good because he'd explicitly forbade me to touch it a few weeks prior. He never found out, to my knowledge. 😅
