The next two days it's raining in the evenings. Both days. So I can't bike. (I know, no bad weather, juts bad clothes, but I'm not there for 11km at zero degrees in rain, with a strained ankle, partially with strong front wind).
I know I'll be there in the mornings, annoyed at the bus stop. If at least it rained evening the one day and morning the other and I could combine bus and bike on both days...

I'm not even sure what this recipe is, except yummy.
It started as a (Germanized) version of pad thai, but I removed the chicken and added tempeh instead of tofu. And loaded it with veggies.
Dinner today, lunches for the next three days at work.

I was a refugee (and have the paperwork and ptsd to show for it) and you know what? Having to move social platforms can feel similar if there is enough emotional investment (and imho online relationship are not less than offline ones) and not enough of the folks who matter to us who move with us.

Meagre #bookspotting on either of my two trains today: a family continuing from Cologne further North, the woman (mother?) with "Adrenalin" (German version of the book) by Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Boarded the train to the Netherlands in Cologne main stations, got lunch (I do have a standard lunch I always buy at this train station 😅) and new reading material (the last of these books they seemed to have left? ⬆️ I'm seriously glad my last German PhD student just had his last PhD paper accepted. I have no idea how I would have paid for it otherwise. And I have no idea where we'll get funding for my Dutch one - his paper will be longer, because complex, time-variable high res data...
(I'm really missing having a professional astro community here the same way it existed in old twitter 😭 I'd love to talk & be upset together with folks who really understand the field and what it means...)

This is a major mistake from A&A - forcing such short papers will result in crucial info missing (already now data treatment is often not properly discussed!). I'm a very (sometimes too) concise writer & only two of my 1st author papers are below the 12 page limit. None could be shortened without loss of science.
