Got Beyond Good & Evil on Steam to play on my Deck and fucking Ubisoft Connect requires you to sign in to an account. This sent me into a 20 minute ordeal to find my account, get a keyboard hooked up, and get the password in.

I've been working on a module for the luxe engine that allows you to import Quake maps made with TrenchBroom! It's such a nice level editor and this will help make 3D worlds so much nicer in this engine!

I’m sure the Switch 2 will be fine, but I just loaded my own custom Linux OS on my Steam Deck so now it’s a game console AND has all of my game dev tools for when I want to do device testing.

I've almost exclusively worked at small game companies, and I really resonated with @MOOMANiBE's blog about the problems with "indie" game companies and how that shouldn't be the template we aspire to use in the industry.

I also want to add:

• Even when hired, small companies rarely have upward mobility and growth opportunities built-in

• The people in charge of management are often people who own the company and are bad at it. Sometimes they'll hire a producer. They are also bad at it.

• Working on a smaller team means being able to have influence, but you will never make your game.
