One of my big projects this year is gonna be to fully de-Google. If reasonable, run some services myself on a droplet.

I’m no web server or security admin. That’s my only real fear of doing this. But things like https://yunohost.org make it look much easier to get going.

@philipdrobar God yeah, there's also the possibility that I could just put an RPi on my network and use that as a server, but man I really don't want to do router config and port forwarding. One scary thing at a time :(

@brody You will like it. You can install a great deal of services with just a few clicks, and there is a self-diagnosis tool that troubleshoots most configuration problems and proposes solutions.
