Soo, given todays domain events... What's the current state of re-use of domains for Fedi instances? Does not having the old instances key "burn" the domain for anyone who has talked to it before, or are new keys accepted at some point? I thought it was the former, but am getting a bit confused by some of the discussions around it.

Does #matrix have something similar to the #discord timestamp feature? (where you can use <t:<unix_timestamp>:<formatting_qualifier> in a message and it'll show that to everyone as a countdown or in their local timezone)

small hack from a while ago:

A synchronized grid on my homepage people can draw on, and it updates a small epaper display on my desk. It's been fun to occasionally glance over it and see it has randomly changed because someone went by my website (https://www.svenknebel.de) and drew a new pattern 😃

Random thought: Domain registrar's should offer a service where you can nominate people to take over a domain if you let it expire for whatever reason. Once it expires, email the list of provided addresses, they get 30 days to claim (and start paying for) it, only then it gets released.

Would be great to have for community resources, and worth some extra cost.
