Listening to David Lynch this morning.

So tired of fire, so tired of smoke

Send me an angel, save me

I wanna have a good day today

Good day today

I suspect that it's more that I have aged than that Wild At Heart doesn't seem to have aged well to me now. That was a movie for a 20 year old me, not me now. It changed me in many ways and that was its importance. I'd never seen anything like it before.

Maybe it wasn't my favorite Lynch film as a film, but for me it was his most important. It encouraged me to embrace the weird and the innane, to see the possibility in the everyday.

Arcane Bullshit (.com) makes some bullshit memes that are mighty arcane.

They even sell blankets in their store. How did I not know about this?

This is horrible.

"The week before Thanksgiving, Marshall Brain sent a final email to his colleagues at North Carolina State University. "I have just been through one of the most demoralizing, depressing, humiliating, unjust processes possible with the university," wrote the founder of HowStuffWorks.com and director of NC State's Engineering Entrepreneurs Program. Hours later, campus police found that Brain had died by suicide."

Watched a YouTube video of a Brit who goes to sketchy parts of cities to see how bad they are. He went to Bijlmermeer (now Amsterdam Zuidoost). It amazes me that people still tell stories about it like it's New Jack City. Maybe it's systemic racism that keeps the idea in circulation that the place where non-white people live is scary.

Nearly everyone I know of FB: "I'm deleting my twitter!"

Me: "Yay! It took a lot, but you left the abusive billionaire boyfriend."

NEIKOFB: "I've met a new guy, he's called BlueSky, and he says he won't ever hurt me!"

Me: "Let me tell you how venture capital works."

But I feel like the bad guy.

Disney+ had a pretty fair price initially when it launched in the Netherlands.Three years in, I get an "Important updates to your subscription plan" email.

They want to nearly double the annual price. Or, I could opt in for one of the packages with commercials.

Get in the bucket with YouTube Premium. There are other ways. Watching ads isn't one of them.

I always just sort of assumed that they released a bunch of stuff under this project, and I missed it because I wasn't really their target audience.

Two tracks, two remixes. That's it.

It seems that MARRS was very nearly a perfect One-Hit-Wonder.

The one thing that could make LinkedIn not suck?

If recruiters were required to include a salary budget and how they define "remote" before they're allowed to "Reach out about an interesting opportunity"

I've been getting a whole lot of "Hey there, we have a job you might be a match for. Can I send you the role?"

This is like the recruiter version of internal teams messaging "Hey" and then... nothing.

Just ask the question or provide the details, then I can decide to ghost you or not.

Google decided to let me know today that I don't want to pay for YouTube Premium anymore. €25.99 per month?

Honestly, I'm surprised I didn't kill it after the last bump in price last year.

I've been moving most of my music back to my home Plex server anyhow, so I don't really even need YouTube Music anymore.

I sometimes get notifications that someone edited a post that I liked or boosted. I can read it and make sure they didn't change something like "I like puppies" into "I kill puppies" instead of just fixing a typi.

Typo. I even made a typo typing typo.

Boy would it be nice to have the diff highlighted (or presented as a classic diff, even) to be able to immediately check if I should still associate with the updated text.

In light of the new "AI WOW!" approach in the Firefox nightlies, I've installed #LibreWolf on my Linux machine at home, my Windows work laptop and corp VMs desktop.

Thankfully, they include a portable version so I can run it on the corporate machines. Though, the windows LibreWolf-Portable.exe had some issue on the VM about determining 32/64 bit, I just ran the LibreWolf/librewolf.exe directly.

I haven't messed with setting up corp proxy yet. That's tomorrow.

The review I left when replying to them and bumping them down to a 2/5:

Be more upfront about limitations and

prices. Edit: I have no problem with charging. I have a problem with not BEING UPFRONT ABOUT IT.I had to download and sign up to find out how much I'd have to pay for storage. Instead of being able to read files on my phone or from my own storage. Not every damned thing has to be a subscription. Make a product and I'll pay for it. I've updated my rating as well based on your reply.

3/2
