I stopped running maybe a year ago, when my right foot started hurting constantly. After a few months of being unable to walk without pain, I got myself some Hokkas and the pain went away.
Unfortunately I got scared out of running, and got on the trajectory of turning into a fat turd.
So I started running again. Very carefully, a couple of minutes at a time to start, stopping anytime I felt pain. Oddly my left foot is giving me trouble now, and running in Hokkas seems to stress it more than running barefoot.
So I am back to barefoot running, and am now running maybe a couple of kilometers a day, in 5-minute-or-so sessions...

I also had a pain in a foot when started running. In my case that were some stretching excises (approx. 40 s for each joint) which helped. And yes, you should start slowly and carefully and listen to your body. If barefoot running goes better, then why not? I hope you'll overcome this. Running is great! π

I find running most rewarding when my arms are filled with someone elseβs belongings. Otherwise I just canβt seem to find the motivation.

Hmm. Can I be more offensive? Yes!
I can only run fast when a couple of black dudes are chasing me.

Now that I have old person knees, I save sprinting for the police.
