Let's meet up at port 22 to celebrate, experiment, and learn about text-based, smol computing along with the OpenBSD operating system. This server is explicitly against capitalism, states, fascists, cops, racists, antisemitism, sexists, harassment, homophobia, transphobia, ableists, and zionists.

What can you do in here? Let's figure it out together, but here are some ideas:

• Do some journaling using jrnlc
• Keep track of your calendar using remindcal
• Get productive with taskwarrior
• Email with aerc, alpine, neomutt, or meli
• Write your thoughts on your gemlog
• Do some programming in BASIC, Perl, C, Lua, Lisp, etc.
• Follow some blogs online with newsboat or newsraft
• Post on fedi with tut, toot, or tootstream
• Play games with other users

Take note that this server is explicitly against capitalism, states, fascists, cops, racists, antisemitism, sexists, harassment, homophobia, transphobia, ableists, and zionists. Users of this service are not allowed to do the following:

• Promoting fascism, nazism, militarism, copaganda, zionism, state nationalism, antisemitism, or contributing to the discrimination, harassment or harm against any individual or group through forms of discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation, along with issuing statements which are racist, xenophobic, ableist or discriminatory in any other form.
• Sending advertisement or unsolicited messages to the users of this system.
• Using the services for financial gain, including but not limited to trading and managing sales, commercial projects, enterprises and other profit oriented activities. This includes cryptocurrency related services. (Exceptions can be made for those project that put DIY or mutual support and local solidarity before the concept of capital and personal income).
• Promotion of political candidates. These people have complete control over our lives, and they value business and GDP over our wellbeing so they are not welcome here. You are of course free to discuss politics just don't promote them.
• Abuse of the resources available on this server. This server is a shared with other people, so please be mindful of how much resources you're using.
• Promoting large data set neural nets designed to replace creative labor (e.g. LLMs like ChatGPT, Copilot, LLaMA; so-called "AI art" tools like Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and DALL-E), due to its appropriation of labor, benefit to capitalists, and environmentally-destructive nature of their creation and use. Feel free to discuss them, just don't promote their use.
• Uploading illustrated imagery featuring sexualised depictions of people who appear to be underage. Even if there's something saying they are over 18, they should reasonably look like they are over 18. Uploading erotica involving minors is also not allowed.
• Flirting with someone who is under 18.

Accessibility

A note on visual accessibility: even though the command line interface is text based, screen readers have a hard time with it because the text is unstructured. This is unfortunate, but I might have an alternative. If you want access to free software tools that can be accessed on a web browser (which is much better for screen readers), please take a look at Aangat Lahat. It's a system that I run that provides email, file sharing, RSS reader, and calendar services.

Privacy

Regarding privacy, registration to this server doesn't request for your real name, phone number, address, etc. IP addresses are logged, but only used for debugging purposes. Feel free to use the service via Tor or a trusted VPN as well.

The data that you store in your home directory is yours and will never be shared or sold to anyone. Trust is a two-way street, so feel free to learn more about me on my website:
