A Turbo Grafx-16 Game that Never left Japan:
What an original title! Much skills.
I am quite deep into the Turbo Grafx-16 library, and who can blame me? It has such a vast library when you look at its Japanese exclusive releases.
Mizubaku Daibouken, also Liquid Kids in English, is originally arcade release. Later ported to Turbo Grafx-16.
It is a platformer, as you can tell I am quite into the genre. But what makes it stand out is that its graphics are so crisp and clear. That game has the style which is complimented by the aforementioned graphical quality, which is rare. Even for the modern games.
The gameplay feels snappy. Jumping, throwing water bubbles and traversal throughout levels require deliberation, memorizing the patterns but when you consider the quality of the gameplay I would say it is well worth of effort.
Turbo Grafx-16 have plenty of platformers but few of them are as good as Mizubaku Daibouken.
The mascot is adorable too, and such adorableness manifested throughout every inch of the game. Background design, enemy sprites all of them netizens of this beautiful game.
I would say it is an amazing game. You should definitely consider playing it if you are into platformers, nay, if you are into gaming.
