Some simple math:

In 2023 the US collected $2.18 trillion in income taxes.

That year the US imported $3.83 trillion in goods.

To replace all revenues from the income tax with import tariffs #Trump would need to charge a 57% import tax on EVERYTHING that crosses into the US.
