@Toxic_Flange The real value of a company isn't what they own - it's the people. People who work there, people who are their customers, people who have memories of the company that they pass onto others.
The great delusion that the wealthy have forced on business is that IP is a form of wealth in and of itself. The resulting trends of patent trolling and DMCA take downs are huge barriers to innovation today.
And on the note of open source - fuck yeah!
