People keep talking about the rebirth of Pebble like it’s just about nostalgia. Agghhh it is not! It’s about DATA SOVEREIGNTY!
I have used a Pebble continuously for many, many years. It notifies me when calls or texts or emails come in, tracks my sleep and steps and then — forgets all that info. It doesn’t transfer to a device. It doesn’t report to the cloud. It doesn’t remember anything past a few days! It acts in the moment and the data that passes through it is otherwise ephemeral, gone.
Everyone else is wearing basically a portable combination microphone and biosensor on their wrist that reports to the Apple or Google mothership. Pebble reports but doesn’t track. It does all the stuff you need and NOTHING you don’t need.
Get a Pebble FFS.
