Now is the time for all good people to stand up for the aspects of humanity we share - of decency and kindness, of hard-won wisdom, of tolerance and free speech and equal justice under law.

We Americans make no excuse for the madness and foolishness of our fellow citizens.

It is enough to say we will rise again, that good cannot merely hope evil will pass away - it must be opposed from within and without.

This I will say: we of Mastodon, here assembled, will do what we can do.
