Tip: when you buy fresh celery, don't put it in the fridge. Put it in a container/vase and put a little bit of water in the bottom. It can stay fresh and grow roots for a couple of weeks, if you keep watering it.
Don't put too much water, just enough to keep the bottom wet, otherwise it will rot.
If the celery is a little old from the shop, you may need to re cut the base, just shave off a bit.
Sometimes they wilt, but come back... I even planted one out after I'd used most of it!
