Mediocre Game I find myself enjoying:
Blade Dancer Lineage of Light, an early PSP release, is not anything special. It is one of the dozen turn based RPGs that the catalogue of PSP is full of. However, I find myself drawn to it.
Sometimes you stumble upon a game, that you find yourself enjoying even though it is not the peak quality.
I guess there are some positives for it too. Its combat is not random encounter based instead all the mobs are represented in the image of skull. That is a great feature.
For an early title graphics looks quite nice too.
Protagonist isn't the most interesting one.
The feel of it is quite old school. Old school RPG.
Back in the day I remember being drawn to this game. I neglected it for a long time. But now here we are, I am enjoying it quite a bit.
There is something charming, and relaxing about mediocre games, more specifically RPGs. You can return to them whenever you want and keep playing it.
Sometimes simple and mediocre is alluring. We all love Metaphor ReFantazio, Persona series, SMT, and whatnot. But I also love to look at mediocre games too.
It is not a guilty pleasure to me because the notion of guilty pleasure is hypermoralistic. It is ok to enjoy things others don't.
Thus, us not a recommendation post, more of an expression of some gaming ideology, embracing the mediocre and have fun with it.
