This was the problem that I was having installing Linux on my laptop. At some random point during installation it would enter the shutdown mode. The system didn't completely turn off. It gave me the "remove installation media then hit enter to power off" message. Video attached is me trying with Linux Mint. I eventually tried AntiX Linux and the same shutdown problem happened too.
