SOLVED:

Running with --privileged works.

Have to run a flatpak (only offered as) as a container (only available runtime), but have an issue with it failing with

ldconfig failed, exit status 256

It will only run after setting

chmod u+s /usr/bin/bwrap

and running as root

the container already starts as:

--cap-add=SYS_ADMIN

Any idea what this could be?
