@glow you're kinda right. It's a big deal for several reasons: Parts of the AfD are officially considered right extremists, for instance Björn Höcke, one of their figure heads can legally be called a fascist. The other parties, including the CDU, pledged not to collaborate with the AfD for anything. This was called the Brandmauer (firewall), against naziism. CDU is conservative yes, but they didn't want to support nazis, at least if you believe their statements.
