Question for all the trans folk out there... What did it take for you to feel comfortable presenting as your preferred gender identity? Like, when did you decide you were "ready" to dress as you wanted, go by the name you prefer, have others use the pronouns you want, etc?
:boost_ok: Please consider boosting so I can see more people's experiences!
A bit of background from me on how this question came up (feel free to skip, the main question is above). I just got out of an appointment with my therapist and I was discussing how I don't think I'd feel ready to present outwardly femme until I had my own home to myself and was on hormones for long enough to feel as if I could pass. My perception is that a lot of the trans folk I see on fedi are people who live on their own or have a close person who knows about their identity that they live with. Kinda want to figure out if my perception is right, or maybe I'm just being a coward
