It's hard not to resent most LitRPG authors a bit for selling out to Amazon, which forces Kindle Unlimited authors to stay exclusive to their platforms (Kindle and Audible), and has historically given very few fucks about accessibility of their Kindle apps and very many fucks about making sure people can't easily decrypt the books for use outside Kindle. Even if I patron these authors, they still can't legally give me ebook copies. So many of these authors write about breaking/defying the "system" and somehow that seems quite ironic in this context. If I have to choose between illegally pirating your book, illegally(?) breaking the DRM or having a sub-par reading experience, what kind of choice is that? I really want to pay for the things I can pay for, but not like this.
