The firing of Jennifer Abruzzo and Gwynne Wilcox marks this as a particularly dark day for the National Labor Relations Board, a group which has for an extremely long time (1935!) sought to provide a medium between US laborers and the exploitative capitalists in their towers. Their dismissal is clearly motivated by a number of factors, and in the case of Abruzzo, one might be tempted to assume racism is the chief factor.

As indeed it is! There's no question at all that she was fired at least in part for being a Black woman. Wilcox, in turn, was probably fired just for being a Democrat -- and of course for being a woman.

Beyond that, though, Abruzzo's unique perspective in the NLRB has led to a great many cases which would otherwise have been ignored -- most of which the plutocrats and kakistocrats loathe for being brought to light. Her career has been sublime, taking on the toughest comers like Amazon and Microsoft, but all that as as nought with an administration which would much prefer that the NLRB be explosively dismantled.

Abruzzo has opted to fight, and I hope that she gets one hell of a judgement for her case.
