Thinking about the cost of college, I ran some numbers. My first in-state semester tuition and dorm room at U.Va. (late 70s-early 80s) were ~$750+$750 (excluding food, etc.). That's ~$7200 or ~$14400/year in 2024 $ (4.8x). Today, it's about $25K/year or 1.7 as much, which is less than I expected.
