yeah, but they hardly changed anything after the war. black folks were not allowed to be self-actualized members of society. it took another HUNDRED years for this to change materially. there's two hundred years of racist momentum to undo. the more it gets undone, the more the most racist and oppressive people in America become terrified they might have to actually learn something new and (gasp!) work. difference has always terrified these people.
as always, history is his story and it's just for show.
