@npdoty @amyvdh another language quirk I noticed was “you will be missed” (when a {Chair|AC rep|colleague} leaves).
I thought it was the most impersonal and noncommittal way to express a sentiment, where “I will miss you” is so much stronger and meaningful, but apparently “you will be missed” is the appropriate form 🤷♀️
