It's traditionally done at the Easter Vigil or on other occasions when a baptism is celebrated at Mass, but it occurs to me that today, in this moment, it would be an appropriate time to restate in public some of my baptismal vows. So here goes:
I reject sin so as to live in the freedom of God's children.
I reject the glamor of evil and refuse to be mastered by sin.
I reject Satan, father of sin and prince of darkness, and all his works, and all his empty promises.
And if, in the foregoing, you were to think of another appropriate name to take the place of Satan's, you would not be wrong.
