I don’t know about that, but I’m often met with shocked incredulity when I tell Americans I turned down the opportunity to emigrate there in the 1990s after having spent time there in the 1980s.
A lot, possibly even most of them, genuinely believe the USA is the best country in the world and think everyone else is desperate to move there.
