@siracusa re ATP 622 I drive a car with wiper-mounted sprayers, and they routinely freeze over in winter weather, the rear window wiper especially. When I'm in a hurry or it's particularly icy I'll sometimes use spray de-icing fluid (ethanol). It comes in an aerosol can too but I find the hand sprayer works fine. It's not quite as fast as they advertise, but it does make a noticeable difference especially in getting to a spot where you can start scraping.
