@TeamMidwest I think in a way it's connected to the long-standing fantasy of the sexbot, which is to say, a sex partner with no desires and needs and problems of their own. Nothing you have to learn about or accommodate. Nothing that challenges your position as the Main Character.
Isolation breeds solipsism, and we are all terribly isolated these days.
