And I think so much could be done as people communities banned together in re-localize their own economies, and put forth human creativity and ingenuity, finding ways to become as comfortable as possible on the resources around them within their own territory.
An amazing amount of human invention you could go into this informed by all the technology and knowledge we have. There are many examples of communities that Have pursued these goals successfully.
