As some of you might have noticed, my photos over the past few days were of more urban character, than the usual lakes and rolling hills. It was something I didn't think I'd get to experience like that again in my life. The last 10 years have been a constant uphill battle. Getting back on my feet, literally and figuratively. What drove me? My dream of finally being able to travel. Not for work, not to be there for anyone, because I had done that a lot before I became ill, but just for myself. To see, to experience what I had only seen in pictures, heard stories about. I had already tightened the dream - a lot was not going to be able to go, so while I fussed, dreamed and mourned over what I had lost, there was also always anxiety breathing down my neck, that this was in vain, that something would happen to put a stop to it, that the race against the progression of the disease would be lost. By the end of 2019, I had recovered enough to travel again....with a safety net, but still...and then came the pandemic. As a person at risk and not responding to either the vaccine or medication, if I were to become infected, the danger of Covid became a constant companion and still is. I probably won’t die from it, but there's no telling how sick I could get...
