@Geojoek I know in my office, which I built in 2015, I used open cell in the walls and attic. It cures "pimply" like the left of your pic. Those "puff balls" don't seem even like the same stuff. But hey, you are much better off with it than with batting IMHO, though it can make repairs challenging.
