For example, I don't think I've ever beaten any of the Civilization games on anything other than the lowest difficulty level, even though I've played them for about 30 years. Part of this is because I enjoy aggressive rapid expansion (building lots of cities) and that doesn't seem to be the best strategy at higher levels. Am I unskilled? Maybe, but I've paid for the game and want to enjoy it.
