This morning (French time), Charlie Dalin won the 2024 Vendée Globe in just over 64 days and 19 hours, taking nearly 10 days (!) off the previous record.
The Vendée Globe is the world's most extreme offshore sailing race: around the world single-handed on a 60-foot IMOCA-class monohull, non-stop with no assistance.
Following the Vendée every 4 years through the skippers' onboard videos is one of my favourite things in this rapidly enshittifying world.
