hey did we mention we're doing a thing this year? we are so excited to announce we are hosting a series of pop-up installations in CASE W250 (the same space as the Barbed Wire Fence Phone exhibit) from January 27, 2025 until January 2026.
The first of these pop-ups, called “Other Networks,” will feature functioning communication technologies before and outside of the internet. For example, “Other Networks” will showcase our small collection of French Minitel computers along with a demonstration of the Minitel network, telephone systems, fax machines, ham radios and walkie talkies, mesh networks, etc.
Throughout the course of the pop-up we will host demonstrations and events. The exhibition will be open daily, Monday through Friday, for independent exploration, research, and play.
