• explain how we ended up with that particular model, including what were the unsuccessful ideas that we tested and discarded in the process of model design;

• which parts of the model are somehow accessory and there only for biological plausibility but do not really contribute to the final behavior of the model and which other parts are absolutely essential...

In summary: providing more context about the process of generating the model, and not only the final result of this process.
