On the subject of the EFF, I have a half-formed rant that uses distributed systems theory to show how free speech absolutism (of the rights but not responsibilities variety) is fundamentally inextricable from centralised control of the networks people use to communicate, and therefore depends on entirely on good faith behaviour of the operators of those networks.
