I'm not 100% sure yet but with the changes they made to logic signals and rail signals (i.e. being able to control them with logic signals now!) it should be possible to implement something like ETCS (I don't know the ETCS spec well enough to know what it does and doesn't do at the various levels).
Maybe I should read the spec and see how hard it would be :thonkery:
