@phf Well, it's hard to do otherwise when many core social groups congregate there. It's my primary way of staying in touch with.... four separate groups of people I enjoy communicating with (between Facebook itself, and Messenger). Efforts to move those groups to other platforms have universally failed - one group went to Discord for a while and then boomeranged right back to Messenger, for example.
I don't keep a FB account because I like reading what the dipshits in my neighborhood think about immigrants or whatever, I keep a FB account because it has such extreme social inertia that I'd have to alienate myself from a few groups to delete that account. Much the same reason I have Discord - I can't not have it and be social with the people I care about or communities I want to interact with.
