TLD (and not .tld
). It is specifically tailored for that need (see RFC2606 for extensive details). Why is it important? Because people copy and paste documentation without always thinking about it. Lots of people in the past used "fake TLDs" hoping they will never exist, ... and then they started to exist and that created mayhem. See .dev

cases. So always better not to invent fake TLDs.
