Played my yearly game of Twilight Imperium yesterday. I ended up in 3rd as Titans, and learned a new term from a friend who watches professional TI streams and matches. “Win slay carousel”, where we had 4 of us who potentially could have won, with me in the lead.
I was then mercilessly attacked by 2 of the other played trying to prevent my win, then I and the other players tried to kill the new leader, then a 3rd player was almost winslayed. They had the conditions to achieve 2 of their secret objectives, so they eeked the win out anyways.
I’ll be selling my copy of TI to my roommate. Not that I’m bitter about the loss, I didn’t expect to be in the running to win at all. I’m just not as interested in TI as I was when I bought it in 2019, and am happy to see it go to another owner who loves it, and the sale was planned long before this game was played.
