Starmer packing the Lords with more Stameroids!
I remember Scotland in the 1980s when Wendy Alexander and Margaret Curran were considered 'soft-left', campaigned to abolish the Lords and replace it with an elected 2nd chamber. They were part of a group called 'Clause4' after the now abolished, pledge to take into public control the 'means of production'. Once in power in the Scottish Parliament, all thoughts of socialism had gone and they treaded water for years avoiding meaningful change.
