okay, matlab, which I'm not going with, is ... weird. The base home edition is around 100e, but to use it you need to buy one or more 35e packages, so the actual cost is a good question.
They're also not pushing a subscription, which in this day and age makes me suspicious. Not going to dig deeper, though.
